SYNOPSIS
Hannah and Veronica battle a Blood Witch in the thrilling, heartbreaking e-novella prequel to These Witches Don’t Burn.

Turns out, New York City is kind of a nightmare for a witch.

Hannah’s not exactly loving her trip to the city, considering the huge crowds and layers of concrete blocking her connection to the elements. But a weekend away with her best friend, Gemma, and her girlfriend, Veronica, still has its advantages. After all, it’s hard to complain when you’re making out with the Statue of Liberty in the background.

With Veronica’s graduation on the horizon, Hannah is determined to enjoy every second of their time together, even if that means hanging out with Veronica’s new friends, a group of Caster Witches determined to stir up trouble with a local Blood Witch.

Thrust into the middle of a terrifying magical feud, Hannah begins to question if she can really trust Veronica, especially with her heart. And with a vengeful Blood Witch on their trail, she’ll have to use every ounce of her powers to make sure she gets back to Salem alive.

THOUGHTS
ugh.
glad i read this one last because i think i would hated reading about Veronica even more so than i already did.

OMG VERONICA IS THE ABSOLUTE FUCKING WOOOOOOOORSTT!!!!!!!!!!!

questions i had in book 1 were answered in book 2. questions i had in book 2 i already forgot about but i always wondered WTF happened in New York between these 2 that had Hannah wanting to get away from Veronica so bad. and you get bits and pieces through out the book but obvs not the whole story; this is where this one comes into play.

i obviously knew Veronica fucked up majorly but i didn't know the extent of it and man was it bad. if i were Hannah i would've raised hell on her.

finishing the first 2 books left me feeling whatevers about V but after reading this, she's the fucking worst and i'm so glad Hannah stood up for herself and made her feelings about everything known. especially given that she was repressing them for the longest. i wish she would've stood up sooner but overall i'm glad she finally did.

im also really glad to be done with this series, duology, whatever it is.
im over the drama and now need something light.

i also still have some questions. most i can't remember but the one i do have is: Tori was claiming to get revenge on Alice (you dont learn its Alice until book 2 so sorry oops! bit of a spoiler!) yet Alice was afraid....was it just fear of being stripped of her magic or was she really running away from Tori while also trying to fuck her up? idk....that story there is really blurry.

anyway, on to the next book!

jump over for spoilers!
thanks for reading!

They're on a trip to NYC for school when they head to MoMA. Han notices a necklace on the ticket trick and tells her she likes it and continues to word vomit. Eventually she makes it inside and ends up next to Benton sketching shit when she gets an air message from Veronica to meet her in the 3rd floor bathroom. (Which was never explained. Did Veronica really send it? And if she did why wasnt she already IN there. And if the ticket trick felt Hannah why the fuck did she not feel Veronica?)
Anyway, so she goes except it's not V she meets up with. Its Tori, Lexie & Clara (I think ara is her name). They're there hunting a blood witch and think Han is it.

Eventually Veronica makes it in and instead of having her gf's back she bfffls the girls who probably almost killed Han.

They all LOL and go their separate ways.

At night Han receives an air message from V to meet up with her and she agrees to meet with her outside her room.
V convinces her to go out and they "run" into Tori and head back to her apt.

The caster witches give Han a potion, she says no, V offers to take it, Han panics and takes it herself. It ends up being a silencing potion. One of the other girls gives her the reversal, she takes it gets pissed the fuck off and runs away. V eventually catches up with her tries to convince her to go back and then gets a call from one of the other girls and it turns out the blood witch has found them. V & Han rush back to help and somehow only Han ends up running after the blood witch herself.

They go back to the hotel and shit is weird.

The next day they're in central park when V finally calls Han over so she goes leaving Gemma all by herself.

The other witches come up with a plan to strip the blood witch of her powers and V is all for it but Han continues to fight it. V gives her shit and ends up accidentally hitting her. Han tells her to fuck off so she leaves Han there to cry. After a while she picks herself up but realizes that shes lost. She sees someone so she asks for help except that it ends up being the blood witch. They sorts throw it down but in the end the other witches find em and knock em the fuck out with a potion.
When Han comes around shes back in the casters apt.

Long story short, Han helps the blood witch escape but not before she takes her blood from her.

Of course the casters get pissed but nothing like Toris anger. She tries binding her and choking her when finally the other casters react and put Tori to sleep.

Eventually the girls leave the apt but the damage is done. Han saw clearly that V had no interest in her best interest so she dumps her right as they're getting to board the bus to go back home.

And das it.
