SYNOPSIS (amazon)
Eighteen-year-old Jill Charron's senior trip to Italy was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime. And then the accident happened. Waking up in a hospital room, her leg in a cast, stitches in her face, and a big blank canvas where the last 6 weeks should be, Jill comes to discover she was involved in a fatal accident in her travels abroad. She was jetted home by her affluent father in order to receive quality care. Care that includes a lawyer. And a press team. Because maybe the accident...wasn't an accident. Wondering not just what happened but what she did, Jill tries to piece together the events of the past six weeks before she loses her thin hold on her once-perfect life.

SPOILERS
all in all, it was Simone who was Jill's cyber bully.
and it was an accident.
that's the short version.

Jill wakes up all groggy from a coma or whatever (and honestly, i though it was going to be one of those "we've kidnapped you, we're going to experiment on you not giving a crap if you care" kinda deal) and to spare you the forever of it, she was in a car accident in Italy with her best friend Simone (who is now dead) and she has noooo recollection of it.

shes freaking out because since she doesn't remember anything shes wondering why Simone hasn't gone to go visit her.
..well, it's cause she's dead.

shit starts to unravel and everyone thinks that Jill killed Simone over a guy.

basically what happens is, Jill had this blog where she was all about feminism, and equal rights and all that but she had a bully. someone telling her that she needs to, long story short, stfu.

so they're in Italy (because of a school trip) and Jill hooks up with Nico but Simone can't handle it so she makes a move on him and of course Jill sees and shit hits the fan.
they fight.
they sorta make up.
and then the accident.

their adviser, trying to make them be on friendly terms, puts them in charge of making the sandwiches for an outing that the class was going to have.
they're still kind of hostile towards each other and then Simone says something that the blogger bully had previously told Jill and that's when she knew that the troll was actually Simone.
they argue, Simone makes a move to slap Jill, Jill blocks it but had the knife in her hand so she cuts her and that's when they steal the car to take her to the hospital.

the whole entire time Simone's being a big ass b basically telling Jill that she's going to black mail her for life, Jill's freaking out, and they drive off a cliff.

now, this is where i don't know what the meaning of her action was because Jill's panicking that Simone is basically going to own her for the rest of her life but then outta nowhere, she's like "ef that, I'm not letting Simone take this away from me."
sooo, i don't know if she deliberately drove off the cliff and hoped for "the best" or if it was indeed an accident. I'm going with the former.

all in all, the Italian authorities try to pursue her to get her in jail but they let her go.
and by the end of it all, she kind of seems okay with the fact that Simone is dead.

the funnier part of all this was that it wasn't even her freaking lawyer that found out that her bully was her "best friend" it was actually her freaking roommate who told her to stfu about it because if anyone found out, she'd be dead meat.

boom!

MY THOUGHTS
just thoughts on the book itself

i don't want to sound cocky or anything but there is no way in h e double l hockey sticks that this book should have taken me 8 days.
eaaasily like 2 days.

anyway.
i hated Jill.
from the moment she woke up she was, to me, an annoying little bitch.
like "hey i was in an accident, but fuck it, ship me to Italy because screw my health its about what i want."

i didn't care for this book.
i wanted to like it but i finished it and i was like "well, I'm glad that's over with."
i don't know what it was.

maybe that it jumped from Jill to a person that was talking to the authorities giving their statement. or that the only suspenseful part (for me) was when she finally recalls the fight and everything leading up to the accident but once that chapter was over, i didn't care for it.
i knew who the hacker was since....😔...since Ana decided she'd try to look into it herself.
you have to have known.

the whole time Jill is so heart broken and in the end shes like "well, Karma, bitch."

i don't know.
i just didn't care for it.

thanks for reading.

  1. Same. Plus, she should have told them the truth. Jill seemed okay that Simone was dead and she said a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. So, in my opinion, i think she killed simone and said f*ck it because she knew Simone could hold what Jill did with the knife against her.

  3. I read this book, and I honestly didn't hate it. I mean Jill was very annoying and the ending just ticked me off, but I think the plot wasn't that bad. (I mean, I've read worse books,) it just wasn't getting to the point, and was starting to get boring. So thanks for the spoiler, it helped a lot. And, I just sort of felt like the ending was rushed. I don't know, I'm a writer, so looking at it from that way, it just kind of felt rushed. But it wasn't that bad, but it definitely wasn't anywhere close to being one of my favorites. (On a side note, have you ever heard of the author, Margret Peterson Haddix? She's my favorite author of all time. She writes mainly YA, and I love her. I totally recommend her books, you may like them!)
