In fact, Palmer has no friends. no one does. friendship is an illusion, like love and compassion. Palmer's true identity is Death....Death has no illusions.
SYNOPSIS
A self styled artist is getting away with murder in Death Valley. If all goes well, so will Nameless. In part two of the Nameless series, the relentless avenger is haunted by nightmares of the past and visions of what’s to come.

Palmer Oxenwald’s hunting ground is the Mojave wasteland. His victims are random tourists and hikers. His trophies are cherished photographs of the damage he’s done. His greatest threat is Nameless. Two men with one thing in common: memories of the dead. For a psychopath like Palmer, they’re a clear rush in black and white. For Nameless, they’re visions of violence buried and erased. But for how long?

THOUGHTS
hmm...when i stop and think about it, this one wasnt as clever-ish as the first but its still good if only because it shows the "sense of humor" that they have for dishing out punishment to those that deserve it.

while this one wasnt as heavily detailed/planned as the first, its still, well, its very serving of how homeboy goes. i mean, i thought it was pretty clever. it only makes sense since, mountains and trails and shit.

i have always had a fear of hiking solo.
i now have an even more profound fear of hiking EVEN with someone else while carrying a loaded weapon. (i used to hike with someone else and well they showed me their true colors so humph!)
i guess my fear of going into my backyard past sundown is even more justified.
hell, even my fear of marriage has been further cemented. (LOL JK! but sorta)

im trying to be very, ahm, elusive (illusive? secret-ish) so that i don't give anything away.

but i will say this, if i was scared to go back to Yosemite after the Blairwitch project came out, this only proves to me that its better i enjoy it from a far.
or with a giant group. which i dont have. so from a far it is.

(can you tell how much of a chicken shit i am! lol)

lol. either way, another good quick read!

jump over for spoilers!
kthxbyye!

SPOILERS
in this one, Palmer gets off on killing people.
literally.
he photographs them before and after kills.
he carries all pictures on a flash drive and watches them on his computer and comes to completion without any...anything. no touching. nothing. just by looking.
this fool think he's legit death.
...and what does death have to fear? what does it need to survive?
nothing.

its been a while since his last kill so he's looking.

he's in i don't remember where (but i remember thinking that i have visited there before or at least been near) when Nameless walks up to him and starts talking to him.
Nameless lets him know that in the very spot, a couple died 9 years ago and another 4 years earlier.
Palmer is all "okay" (but thinking wtf) they make small talk and Nameless leaves and as he leaves, Palmer memorizes the car and the plates of the car.

back at the hotel low and behold, who is next to Palmer at the bar?
Nameless makes short talk about Palmer's $200k watch! then leaves.
Palmer is all wtf, goes back to his room and checks out, drives to idk where and checks in there, sleeps for 4 hours after coming to completion, wakes up and decides something is off so he leaves. when he is leaving, he sees Nameless' car. he knows its him because he remembers the plates.
he packs his shit, leaves, swaps cars in Fresno, drives to a remote, hidden cabin in Mammoth or some shit like that (another place i have been wanting to go to!)
he thinks he's gotten away.

Mia & Kara Benton are avid hikers.
they are on a week long hiking journey or some shit.
they have a weapon on them just in case.

on the last day of their hike before they get to their cabin, they come across Palmer.

Homeboy is shirtless taking pictures like a crazed, hot piece of ass, Lothario and the girls swoon.
he starts taking pictures of them and calls them over; they go.
then he pulls out a gun and starts shooting them in the face.

they know they're goners but they run.
6 shots.
and they never get hit.
(at the first hotel room, Nameless snuck into Palmer's room and switched the bullets out for blanks because he figured Palmer would maybe probably try to get him)

they stop and turn around and they find him on the floor passed out with Nameless over him.

Nameless puts his tranquilizer gun down and tells the girls he needs their help dragging this fool down to his bike so he can transport him.

they're all wtf but do it.

they ask who he is and he tells them its better they don't know.
they ask who Palmer was and he tells them that its better that they don't know but that they shouldn't petty him because he is a horrible human.
Palmer starts waking up and one of the twins shoots him with the tranq gun and she's all "you're right. this is fun!"

Nameless takes the watch off of him and gives it to the girls. tells them to sell it that its worth $200k. they're all "whaaaat!"

he has a vision.
he tells one of the twins that she should not get married.
in his vision, he sees her (i forgot which one) beat up, bruised and with a tie around her neck choking her while her husband rolls her up getting ready to dispose of her body.

he tells her to call off the wedding asap.
its still 2 months away.
that she doesn't know him.
she states that she does know him and blah blah blah and he tells her what he sees. that he can see future visions and that she needs to get away asap.

then he sees a woman and 2 kids across the street.
the woman smiles at him.
the boy he's never seen.
the girl was the one from the first book with the bunny......is this a look into his past!?
idk maybe!!!!

he hauls Palmer back home and with the help of Salazar (one of Nameless colleagues so to speak) they undress him.
Palmer finally wakes up, he's all wtf?, he still has no fear.
with a gun to his back, they make him get up and walk into the house.

it takes a while but the screams start.

they put a mountain lion that had not eaten in days in the house that attacks him right away.
Salazar had previously gone into the house to break any and all locks that would have allowed Palmer to get away.

and that's it.....i mean,i still left some out (like Palmer's background..but still, read!
onto the next!
