i dont know what deal he struck with Amazon that they get all the short stories but who cares, give me more!
in this one, we follow Nameless. a sorta vigilante per say into Texas where he then takes matter into his own hands....so to speak.
and these short stories, i am assuming, follow him along kicking ass and taking names (doling out proper punishments to those that deserve it) that will ultimately lead to his truth? idk.... i cant wait to see!
he doesn't know who he is. his memory only goes back 2 years but something might be cracking because at the end he's getting this vision that he thinks might have something to do with who he used to be.
and i can't wait to see how it all unfolds!
since they're 6 short stories i was going to do them all together but then the spoilers are kinda long so i'll do them one by one.
but i will say this! go read them now!
at this point right now, i only have one book left in the series so i cant wait to see how it all ends and i definitely recommend these since they are quick thrilling reads!

Nameless goes by the name of Ben Shepard but occupies a vehicle and checks into a hotel with the last name Hurkos.
in this one, it turns out that Russell Soakes along with his "partner" (in crime) Harry, kidnap little girls between 10-12 to rape, torture and then kill them.
along with their families.
i think in total he had killed 4 ? families. i don't remember.
Russell has his eyes set on Seraphina. Jennifer's daughter.
Nameless shows up at Jennifer's door and let's her know that he was in combat with her husband....she invites him in and she lets him know that she basically started dating Russell up until the point that she was told by i forgot who that their cousin Lana was Russell's first victim.
Lana's dad was a huge drunk always drinking and driving. Russell is the sheriff of his town. he told her father that if he let him have his daughter to molest (that's basically what he told him) that he could drive drunk up and down and all around and he would never have him arrested or convicted. the dad says yes, Russell gets his way and the dad ends up dead some years later because of said drunk driving. by then Lana has some money saved up and runs away.
Russell has since "learned" that he can't trust the little girls not to talk so he has his way with them and then kills them.
and now Seraphina is his latest conquest.
except that since Jennifer now knows what he's truly after, she has taken all the precautions to make sure that doesn't happen.
Nameless is here to make sure this doesn't continue going on.
as Nameless is in the house talking to Jennifer, Russell drives by, sees the car, runs the plates and learns that the car belongs to Wendy's parents. Wendy was his last victim. her parents were tied in their car and buried alive in his back yard (he owns a shit load of land. he buries the evidence in his back yard. and his torture chamber is underground hidden idk where...).
Harry calls him and lets him know that he just got a call from a kid asking for money.
Russell tells him not to worry, Harry tells him that the kid was Wendy. Russell still doesn't worry.
Russell goes to the inn where Nameless checked in and finds out that whoever they are, has checked in under Wendy's fathers name.
he checks out the room and in there he finds a whatchamacallit....not a suitcase...i cant think of the word!, full of photographs not only from Wendy and her family but of all the families that they have both tortured and killed. ...along with woman items left around.
Harry calls Russell again and tells him that he got another call and it was now a woman not even pretending to be Wendy, asking for "more money than God has himself". Russell tells him to go home and that he will meet up with him. then he thinks to himself that Harry must be fucking around with him trying to get money out of him. he thinks that Harry and his sister must have set him up so that they can get money out of him and then they can split it "three ways". he thinks they're taking him for a fool.
so he goes to Harry's, he's freaking out drinking and long story short, Russell distracts him with a gun, then chloroforms him, takes him up to his tub, strips him, puts him in the tub, chloroforms him again 4 more times and then slits his left wrist making it seem like a suicide.
he waits to make sure and leaves.
Nameless is in the shadows seeing all this go down.
Russell took care of one for him.
back home, Russell thinks to himself that he is so smart for figuring it all out, goes about his shit, starts looking up info on Harry's sister and plotting his revenge on her and then ends up in his room in just underwear when he (i think) opens his closet and boom! there is Nameless. Russell is all who the fuck are you?
Nameless shoots him with a tranquilizer.
he then wakes up later being locked up in his closet.
from the car, Nameless does something on a phone and the house instantly lights up on fire.
one hundred thousand percent no chance of Russell surviving.
(earlier in the day, Nameless had broken in and set all that up)
(i also forgot to mention that Nameless had broken in prior and found his torture room and went into the yard and unburied all that Russell and Harry had buried. so he for sure knew someone was fucking with him.)
Nameless ends back up at the inn. the manager and the clerk lady (i forgot her name) knew what was going on and they helped.
Nameless gives them each $10k.
and the ladies son is freed from jail. he was placed in jail by Russell for crimes that his own nephew or some shit committed.
Nameless goes back to Jen's and gives her $20k (i think) and Seraphina gets to keep Attila, Russell's dog; a German Shepard.
as he drives he gets a vision of a little girl with a stuffed bunny and then her hand being cut off.
he drives away.
onto the next.
