“Sure, maybe love can be simple, but sometimes, it’s a real struggle. People have gone to war over love, Natalie. They’ve spanned oceans. They’ve left their families and their homes behind. They’ve given up their jobs. They’ve put their dreams on hold. Love isn’t simple. That’s a lie. Love is a fight. Love is a plight of the human condition. You either choose to suffer it, to feel it like a cancer inside you, or you give up and you walk away unscathed.”

THOUGHTS
when i first wrote my thoughts about this book i really liked it but since i take forever to post, and I've had more time to think about it, to me this one was just an okay read.
i wasn't crazy about it. because while the steam factor is there (barely), not a lot of anything happens.
they hook up once, then don't and then i forget what happens in between, then they go for it again but she has a secret and then it comes to light and it all just works out. but it just didn't have pizzazz in the long run for me.

its nice that there's a story where the 2 main characters actually acknowledge how they feel about each other but i wish this one would have been more, for lack of a better word, saucy.

they are two young, hot af surgeons/doctors/whatever.
i wish they would have had more fun and maybe in the epilogue what actually happened could have happened then (although the epilogue was pretty funny!) because to me it just seems like it was all neatly taken care of. there wasn't any iduno....im over it.

i guess i can see why Nat is the way she is thanks to her mom buuuut.....iduno i hated that part a lot too.

it wasn't a bad read and i did enjoy reading it and it was also pretty funny but now that its been over there was nothing all that special about it to me.

i guess my other issue with this read is the way Connor is described...the guy on the cover does him no justice lol. kinda reminds me of her other book Make Me Bad.
if you're going to describe the guy as Jason Momoa minus the long hair in the story then give us JM on the cover.

i also disliked how "manly" the men were in this story. who wins when those are your attitudes?

anyway, jump over for some spoilers!
kthxbyye!
SPOILERS
Natalie lives with her brother who is leaving to do some traveling for some doctor stuff.
Connor moves in because his house is being renovated and has nowhere else to stay.

they all work in the same hospital and Connor & Natalie both work in the burn unit.

it opens up with her graduation and at her table its just her and her brother Noah along with another Doctor when Connor shows up.
long story short here: he showed up under the pretense that the other doctor invited him but he's really there because he wants to see her now that there are no barriers and she no longer works underneath him. this is where she also learns that he will be moving in with them.

so he moves in, Noah leaves and they flirt back and forth.
they both let it be known that they like each other.

in all her other stories (the ones that i've read anyway) they usually don't believe that they like each other, they talk about it and then they hook up. in this one, they flirt, its known, THEN THEY HOOK UP! (at that charity thing) and then she runs away because she still doesnt believe that she can score a guy like this one.

time passes....there's hints. there's her trying (but not really) to date other dudes, mostly that dude Daniel from their job that of course Connor crashes.

(i'm drawing a blank as to what happens here)

they finally give in or i forgot what happens but she's at work and she feels very sick and long story short, she's pregnant but doesn't know for sure. she hasnt taken the test yet.
she goes back to the house and they sleep together again. ...i think by this point they decided to go for it and just do the thing to an extent. anyway, she thinks she's pregnant but she's not sure. they hook up and the next day, she takes 5 different tests all confirming that she is pregnant.

in her mind, her and Connor are going to co-parent. but he's in love with her. she's just in denial.

things happen here....
blah blah blah.

her brother finally comes home and has a party shindig.
Natalie calls Connor and messages him to no avail and he's on his way home with a huge bouquet of flowers (they had a fight the night before in where Natalie decided to sleep in her room for the night) when he walks into the party.
he tries to talk to Noah but he's in party mode.

Natalie leaves with Lindsey (her bff who is a baby doctor) to have a girls night and mostly because she's tires cause babays kid.

the next morning, Connor tells Noah and that fool reacts by trying to beat the shit out of him.
and Natalie walks in on them on the floor. she's all wtf! and Connor is all i told your brother about us. and then Noah tries to hit him again. and she's all "hey! no fighting in front of the pregnant girl!" and then Noah goes berserk again. she calms them down by dumping ice on them.

in the end, he takes her back to his condo and shows her the baby room and it ends with them spending thanksgiving with his parents.

Connor asks her to marry him, she says yes, at the park where they saw the old couple and they go back to their place to celebrate with both sets of parents.

in the epilogue, Natalie goes into labor at the market (GO LENNY!) and then she makes it to the hospital to give birth.

.....and i have since returned the book and i already forgot so i don't really remember what else happens after this.

there's also a lot i left out but you get the point.

kthxbyye!!
