holidays
I'm back from vacation and back to work now so i can finally catch up on posts!
i have several that i need to get started on. i love that for a while, nothing happens and then BOOM!!! gotta play catch up.
i have a book post and our vacation ones and then I'm caught up!
anyway, sorry for going off track!
4th of July!, we spent it at B's house with his sisters, nieces and nephews.
we celebrated his bday (another post i gotta write!) with cake and donuts which were gone as soon as the last line of the hbd song was sang. i made party hats out of popcorn holders and we partied it up with fireworks.
last year we celebrated by the pool but this time we kept it at his house and he lives in the perfect area for this since he's at the end of the street.
for the most part, my family doesn't really do much. well, us kids anyway.
most of our cousins do their own things with their own families so I'm free to go over and celebrate with him.
even more so since it's his bday the following day.
after eating, we lit up all the fireworks, witnessed some illegal ones as well and saw what was probably the first dog in history trying to eat a firework every time it shot up in the air.
it was the best (and he was NOT harmed at all!)
i love having a phhhoto account where no one follows me cause it gives me freedom to just post whatever i want without worrying about blowing up anyone's feed.
i thought id share my faves here (honestly, they were all posted on there).
it's been awhile since I've shared a phhhoto post so i thought this would be the perfect start off point.
anyway, i hope you all had a great, happy, safe 4th of July.
i kinda hate the damn holiday because people swear they're on a competition to out blow their eardrums off and the dogs go crazy but other than that, its pretty great.

i realize that we're 18 days into the new year, 2 days away from heading into basically doom and that this is technically my second post of 2017 buuut i didn't just want to keep book bloggin' without acknowledging the new year.
so, HELLO 2017!
i ended 2016 with my boyfriends family where everyone said happy new year at 12 and i stuffed my face with 9 grapes (or maybe 12...not sure) and they all sang happy birthday to me.
to be followed really quickly by going to bed.
oh the life of the old!
i love it! i don't want it any other way.
...but we ended up going out with my bf's siblings to another party.
in the morning we, him & I, headed to my house and had a family birthday dinner and it was the best!
i had 2 cakes and everyone i loved around me.
afterwards, we watched 6/8 Stranger Things episodes, i was hooked and even if i sorta know the aftermath, I'm still #teambarb.
had a couple of drinks and went to bed!
then the next day (!!!!) i FINALLY got my Disneyland date!!!!!
eek!!!
all i have ever wanted in my life is to go on a date to Disneyland (cheesy, i know) and he FINALLY made it freaking happen!
we didn't get there til 2-ish but it was still great.
we caught the fireworks, headed home and i don't remember much after. i had work on the 3rd so i think i just went home....iduno
all in all, i love the beginning of a new year.
not because its my birthday but because it all feels new.
even the air is better (but i live in LA so that doesn't last long.)
18 days into the new year and things feel a little bit more settled down and all I've been doing is scrapbooking and putting off books till today. for some reason I'm in kind of a funk.
but anyway....i just wanted to stop by and say hi to all of you and to 2017.
lets hope trump doesn't shit all over America.
okay, who am i kidding.
i hope he doesn't basically send us into a The Purge situation.

im always amazed when people show off their vacation pictures and im like aw man, i wish i could do that too! and then im like duh, les. you have a blog.
i just get lazy.
and editing pictures on a phone is a drag.
but thats what i get for not having a computer at home or any editing skills. so here we are.
aaaanyway!, over the long weekend, Evelyn (my bf's brother's gf) booked us all a room (moms included...family trip) at i forgot where next to Firestone Brewery so the guys could have some drinks (we all drank) and then next day we drove up to Hearst Castle.
we left on Sunday and hit up Solvang (all of the heart eyes), walked around a bit and had breakfast.
everyone was hangry so we didnt do much but i am DEFINITELY going back during xmas with my mom because they light it all up and i mean come on!!!!
after that, we hit up the hotel. had a couple of glasses of wine because YUM! then went to dinner just to come back down (just the 4 of us) have a couple of more drinks and have just about the best laugh i have ever had in my life.
ill leave you with some pictures.
went straight to the bar and ordered samples of every beer they had. not bad.
neptune pool currently under construction. they say it might be ready sometime 2017 but i doubt it. she sounded very hesitant about the answer she gave me.

they had about 100 different statues all over the place. some were cool looking.
others were kinda creepy looking without the eyes painted. it honestly felt like they were looking in to your soul. spooky!

looks pretty cool but it honestly creeped me out a bit.
afterwards, we drove down the 1 and made several stops.
on the way up to hearts castle, we saw a couple of zebras but we were thinking there was no way.
long story short, once Hearst had the castle done-ish, he had all sorts of animals taken to his property and zebras happened to be one of the many.
unfortunately when he went bankrupt a lot of the animals were sent to zoo's. those that stayed are great great great whatever of the original animals he used to have.
they have A LOT of land so these were waaaaay out. miles upon miles away from the castle.
a short 45 minute drive from there, i FINALLY hit up the Madonna Inn.
i have been wanting to go for foever!!!! and almost 2 years ago when i went to big sur, i wanted to stop by but i decided to skip it.
this time we got off, had lunch and looked everywhere!!!!!
the bathrooms are the cutest things ever!!!!! (the guys one was pretty cool too. and yes, i along with like 10 other women were seen coming out of there.)
i definitely want to come back and stay in a room eventually just to get the feel of the hotel.
(all of this is in the front building. the rooms are in another way in the back.)
(also, just FYI, the pretty pink dinning room isnt open until 5 so just a heads up.)
overall it was a fun, quick getaway.
the castle was pretty interesting to see.
we had a pretty informative guide and she answered all of our questions.
all i would say is just make sure what you want to see in the castle cause the tours only take you so far.
i had no problem with it at all but it wasnt until we made it into the inside pool (the roman pool?) that i got a little creeped out.
uhm...i dont know. i LOVE swimming but the idea of swimming in there kinda gave me the hibbie jibbies.
i felt like if i was in the deep end, something would pull me by the leg and keep me down there.
then B told me that apparently the workers get to go swimming in it about 2 times a year and that for some odd reason made me a little bit more ahhh! about it. (here's a video of a dude jumping into the pool. eeek!)
then, were almost home and my mom tells me that she felt like she felt a presence in there. not like a ghost or whatever but pretty stuffy and i dont know. but i kinda agreed with her.
which all the more creeped me out when they said they host a night showing of the castle and i was told were going back. eeek. thanks but no thanks.

I've been blogging now for....2 years? no, 3!
in that time, I've written a lot or random stuff and a lot of my old stuff got deleted BUT from what i can remember, THIS is my fave post. i love, love, LOVE it!
I'm not sure what it is. maybe its because i can recall things clearly, i don't know but its by far my most favorite so i wanted to do the same for this weekend. lets get to it but this time I'm starting from Thursday!
THURSDAY
-i applied for the part time job at ban.do and i got an interview (!!!!!). I'm still waiting to hear back. I'm okay if i don't get it cause it is part time and its less than what i make now and that scares me. BUT if i were to get it, I'd try to move things around to make it work since its only for 3 months and they'll eventually need me less and less. (although I'm secretly hoping it could turn in to a full time.) but we'll see. i have yet to hear from them which I'm supposed too today. if i don't, ill be okay and ill send them an awesome thank you for even interviewing me card.
by the way, their new location is so cool! lots of bright light and it wasn't fully set up but it looked like so much fun! and just to interview, I'm completely thankful for.
- i was supposed to have date night with B but as soon as i got there, Evelyn wanted to go to some paint nite event where we painted (they did good, i murdered mine!) an owl. sooo much fun! you get to paint and drink. tell me being an adult isn't fun! (minus the bills and responsibilities) we did that for 2 hours and then we played a couple of games since it was inside a Dave & Busters. then we went home ate and passed out. haha.
it was so much fun because since the 9 months I've been with B, this is the first time i do something with JUST his sister and Evelyn. so much fun to have a girls night. B was making fun of my owl BUT he proudly hung it up in his room. so much love. i told him if we ever move in together, he's putting that thing in the garage. or his man cave.
now, i should note that we got there 1/2 hr late eeek. that's why mine is all aeuthhflkja. i was hurrying to catch up and i was following the lady next to me which is my feathers go side to side instead of up and down. lol
FRIDAY
-we did end up leaving work early. but like dumb.
i went in at 7 thinking, we'll do 4 hrs and leave but no, i got to leave like 45 mins before i was off and then i spent a stupid hour waiting at the dentist.
gah!
- we went on a double date to go see Batman v Superman.
have you seen it? whatcha think?
i LOVED it. but then again i don't know my comic book history. i cant even tell you who's DC or marvel, erm sorta. but i liked it. i think people complain because it wasn't action heavy until the end. and i also think Ben did an awesome job.
it is an extremely long movie so go early. we went at 1135 and didn't get out until 2am.
SATURDAY
-we went to big bear.
and i further proved that when a woman is angry, just feed her. (sorry B.)
-first triple date. super fun!!!
SUNDAY
- spent Easter with B's family. i love em all!!!!
we went to his sisters house and i spent the entire day with the kids in the pool!
i cant remember the last time we did Easter all together with my family. its been a long while and my mom usually always works so as hard as it may be to believe, i had forgotten all about Easter baskets and the whole looking for eggs deal.
i went with B to target and we made the kids Easter bags (6 in total so more cost effective) and that was sooo much fun to put together. i don't have any god children so i have NEVER made a gift basket and didn't know how fun they could be.
the day of, when they were looking for eggs, it was soo much fun to see all the little kids go crazy looking for them.
i told them all there was an egg with a $20 (there wasn't) and that seemed to boost em up.
things i want to remember about Easter with B's family:
1// andy finally saying hi to me. like he actually shook my hand and then i went in for that awkward hug deal. you know how it is lol. i have been around all the kids for a while now and so far the boys have been a little bit hesitant towards me. i wonder why. the girls all seem to like me lol. and then i threw his ass in the pool. ha!
2// getting in the pool and all the kids being super excited about it. mads starting cheering and that melted my heart because she's cool with me but that little chant was the cutest thing EVER!!!!
3// swimming all day with all the kids and hanging out in the pool with nessa the entire time basically. swimming back and forth with her and "teaching" gemma how to swim. and then that one time i tried getting into the jacuzzi but i basically just fell all the way in. everyone was laughing.
4// little teo and juji talking to me non stop! teo is very shy with me and hes talked to me before but its the cutest thing!!!! and then i'd tell him to flex his muscles and he would and it was the cutest thing EVER!!!! haha. that little boy is the cutest thing ever!
5// not wanting to get out of the pool. at all. B begged me to get out. and it wasnt until nessa's dad told her to get out that i got out lol. don't get me near a pool. you'll fight to get me out.
6// when they did look for eggs, teo was mad cause we'd tell him where to go. so his nina went to go grab him to show him and he got mad. so he dropped his bag and then found an egg and launched it at her. it was THEE funniest thing ever. luckily he missed. looks like all that baseball is paying off.
overall it was a very good holiday with them all! <3
im honestly so lucky to be a part of that family.
i woke up with a bruise inside my thigh. and for a while after i got out of the pool, all the lights had a rainbow ring around them because i had my eyes open underwater the entire time but it was the best.
i cant wait to continue partying with this bunch.

how was your Christmas holiday?
mine was awesome!!!
i didn't think to get a picture of the tree with all the presents at the bottom and by the time i wanted to all the presents had been moved cause Chester was caught peeing on a couple of them. (insert wtf emoji face)
i bought my brother an iphone 6 plus i think and because those phones are basically a sneeze away from breaking i bought him a case and a screen protector. the phone wasn't supposed to arrive until Thursday night but it got there a day early so i was freaking out that one those 24 hrs would be the death of that damn phone.
so on the 24th (which is when we celebrate Christmas anyways) i decided "hey lets open 1 gift and 1 gift only!"
that lasted about 2 minutes til i wanted to give away to everyone. (we bought my sister a dresser. and i wanted it out of my trunk so i gifted to her as well.)
eventually we just opened them all.

i got this card for B because he lives on instagram!!!! i got this from carlee's store. as soon as i saw it i HAD to buy it. perfect card for the boyfriend. and i LOVE how she drew Santa. you cant really see it here but i LOVE the was she drew him!!!! #mcm
i bought this giant dwarf headband on one of her instagram sales. this was one of the last batch that she's ever making so i HAD to buy one. i bought it months ago but i busted it out for the holiday and I'm thinking it'll make a comeback on NYE!!!!

to our 1st (of hopefully many) Christmas!
B came over for dinner and then left to his sisters and we went to my gramas.
from back to front: my sis Gis, Tessie. Maya, Emil, Mark, Georgie and my brother Tony.
so, funny story.
my grama has lived in this home for oooh, i don't know, a while.
its a long while because all these kids are what i used to be.
this was our bed. me and all my cousins. my same age cousins.
its so crazy to see the next generation take over this room and this bed while my generation hangs out outside with the rest of the humans (with my exception.)
well, this day (12/24/2015) we were all hanging out, watching the kids play soccer (on the ps4) when out of nowhere BOOM!, the bed broke.
we broke an effin bed.
and all we were doing was sitting on the bed. that bed held a crap load of us through out the years and this was the year the new room generation (plus an old one) broke the bed.
we messed it up completely. so we ran from room to living room to outside to hide the pieces.
my aunt was cool with it and my sister ran and called my dad to get them a new bed so...its all okay. (he works for....and well they get rid of a lot of new stuff! thats how we all got our beds!)
it was just more of a "you had to be there so you could laugh your ass off like we all did" kind of moment.
good times. good times.
b & i decided to go to the movies and his sister right on time gifted him a gift card to the movies so off we went to see Star Wars.
Guys!
i have never in my almost 28 years of life, seen a single Star Wars movie so i was hesitant with this one but holy smokes!!!!
I LOVED IT!!!!!
i love you Chewbacca!!! i want to hug the crap out of him!!!
im gearing up to see the other 6 (?) well, 4/5/6 cause tess said 1/2/3 were meh.
anyways Christmas was a lot of fun,
other things i want to remember:
- chonch getting her dog toys
- how gis never asked me for anything so i somehow ended up spoiling her.
- best xmas bonus at work ever!!!
- spending xmas day (25th) with B. at the movies then at my house building my sister her ikea dresser. (ive never done something so simple like that with someone and it was just amazing. both of us working on the dresser while my mom was making fun of us.)
- taking B with me to my gramas which means: he met my grama, my aunts and uncles and his fave, my uncle stan.
- taking B with me to my ninas house which means: he met my nina and her mom and all her sisters.
- B being a hit with everyone! (: everyone loved him. and that means a lot to me because he is the first and only guy i've ever brought home! eeek!
- of course breaking the bed.
- that awesome tree above that was lit outside by my ninas house! best thing ever!!!
- deciding to start a new xmas (25th) tradition with B: going to the movies on actual xmas day.
- cutting ties that i no longer need to have. (closure effin rocks!)
i cant think of more but ill add them as i remember.
i hope you all had an amazing holiday wherever you were with whoever you were with.
cant wait to see what 2016 has in store.
im not sure that ill be posting in the next two days so please consider this my i hope you guys have an amazing new years eve! wish to you.
