its not even funny how late i am with these pictures.
i meant to post them a looooong time ago.
like when i went to go see her, long ago; back in August 2015.
but for some reason i never did.

and then when i was finally going to, i didn't.

BUT NOW I AM BECAUSE I GOT TICKETS TO SEE JILL SCOTT AGAIN AND I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!!

sorry for yelling!
but, so yea.
i thought it was time that these were ~~out there in the world~~ on my blog.

i know they're of the crappy quality but i was tooo busy singing my heart out to stand there and take good pictures.

i think the most favorite part of this concert for me (besides you know, finally seeing her!) was the fact that a man next to me saw me singing my heart out and he turned to me and said "you sing it sista." ahhh!!!! (you have no idea how much that meant to me.)

anyway, i cant wait to see her!
im currently listing to her on Spotify and ill probably listen to her repeatedly (even more so) from here on out til the day of! eeek!!!

currently listening to: red hot chili peppers

a couple of days ago, i was looking through my blog looking for stuff to link up and i realized that i stopped blogging "life" stuff and i miss it!!! (i mean, i knew i had stopped obviously, i just hadn't realized how much i missed it.)

i miss blogging about dumb, random stuff that i later regret having posted.

bahaha

i haven't done a currently listening to in a loong time.

a year+ to be exact. eeek

i think it's because maybe i made baby jesus a promise to not hit up ANY concerts in 2016 so long as he let me see Jill Scott live once!

he kept his part of the deal so i HAD to keep mine.

case in point: i bought tickets to see the neighbourhood solo on superbowl Sunday last year and guess who got siiiiick!!?? (read that in a sing song-y voice.)

so i didn't really even bother trying for the rest of 2016.

:( missed some good ones too.

but he didn't say no to me buying tickets for shows in 2017!

so i was able to score tickets to see THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS!!!!!

this was my third time watching them and by far THE BEST SHOW EVER!!!

my first time was at the fonda, super small venue and i was actually right up front. not bad.

my second time was at Coachella, we made it all the way to the front but i wasn't down with being suffocated so we moved it to the back.

and this time!

this time it was at the staples center.

we weren't that close but it was still pretty good and the show was EFFIN AMAZING!!!!

their light show was amaziiing.

just, everything about that night!

basically, everyone was stoned by the end of the night. if you weren't smoking it yourself, then you were definitely contact high.

everyone was in a giant cloud by the end of the show.

it was pretty dope that they dedicated this show to women since it was woman's day (March 8th, 2017).

the setlist was great!

everything was great!!!

i loved this night so hard!!!!

i was up singing and dancing the whole entire night and i just loved it all!!!

my absolute favorite song of their new album is by far Encore.

that song is everything.

(but go listen to the cd in general...pretty good. i just rediscovered the i'm with you album and hooked on that right now.)

...then that Friday, we had another concert to go to. i was lucky to score tickets from a friends sister and we saw Cafe Tacvba after i wasnt able to get tickets when they went on sale. LOVE those guys.

for now, we only have another one this year; JACK JOHNSON!!!!!

but I'm aiming to HOPEFULLY score tickets to another Jill Scott show.

except I'm not making any promises to baby jesus this time around because I've missed concerts so, we'll see.

I'm also trying to convince him to go with me to see John Mayer...and Bruno Mars (ridiculously good show) but we'll see. I'm okay skipping those two for Jill Scott.

dammit.

made a promise. sorta.

(and as i was about to publish this, Corinne Bailey Rae announces her tour. GIMMIE A BREAK!!!! ...or the winning lotto numbers so i can afford all this!)

anyway, super random post.

Currently listening to: the neighbourhood

sometime at the end of October i took my cousins to go see the neighbourhood because that's their favorite band and because i love them too!!!! (proof here, here and here)
that night i also learned I'm TOO old for that general admission shiz.
so while i left them to basically get trampled in the front, i went all the way to the side and read (yes i read at the concert. also, see why e-readers are the shit!) until they came on stage (cause the opening bands..meh.)
as always some crappy pictures (remember i was to the side in the back so considering these are zoomed in, they're not that bad!)

i have been listening to their album Wiped Out on REPEAT!!!!!
i didn't buy the cd (yes i still buy cd's and YES i buy all my music!) until a couple of days before our trip. so i had the cd waiting for me when i got home and because amazon rocks, with the purchase i got the MP3 version as well so i listened to it plenty on my trip.
since then, i have listened to this cd a hundred times.
seriously on repeat.
so good!

ill be catching them Feb 7 out here in Santa Ana.
i know i said i was too old for ga but for these dudes, ill suck it up.

anyways, go give it a listen on spotify! and then buy it.
cause that's what i did.
cause i like knowing what I'm paying for (hint hint Adele. also one of the most depressing albums ever!)

Joss Stone // 7/23/2015

first, i gotta give a hella shout out to Instagram. because if it wasn't for them i would have never known about this show.

i follow the fonda theater on IG and they posted about the joss stone show so of course i went nuts.

i asked if they had tickets still and then said screw it and went to look for myself.

sho' nuff, they still had tickets! so i got myself one and when Jesus wants to bless you, HE DOES! because this concert was on a Thursday and while i ALWAYS work both jobs on Thursday, i miraculously had this Thursday off.

what did i do to hit the concert jackpot this year!!!! insert about a hundred happy crying emojis right now.

i fell in love with this woman back in 2004? when fell in love with a boy came out. my first thoughts were "eew leave the white strips alone." and then, i fell in love!

as always, about 40 horrible pictures that i LOVE!

you know i love me a blurry picture!

i know they're practically all the same but i cant bring myself to just pick one.

let me tell you this, and this is super serious!, i have never in my life seen a more beautifully gorgeous human being on earth. this woman is just, wow. now i know i have not seen every single human being on earth but this woman. my jaw literally dropped. she is so beautiful i cant even begin to describe it. and her accent! shes the cutest thing ever! and live! her voice on cd's do her no justice. shes soooo good live on her own without her band. her voice is that good.

you know how i said i love Kimbra? i do but i think Joss just bumped her to 2nd place.

if you ever have the chance, do yourself a favor and catch her.

this was her only show in the US (besides Rockin' Rio in Vegas which i did want to go to just to see her but didn't) but if she's ever near to you, please go. you'll thank me!

i gotta say Fonda, i love you for bringing her out here.

whats even better? her new album comes out 7/31/2015 (so does Lianne LaHavas...already pre-ordered) BUT we were able to purchase it at the show so you best believe that's all i have been hearing in my car and I'm currently listening to it right now.

Jill Scott's cd dropped last Friday as well so its been like the best music week for me! its been heaven!!!!

but yes. DEFINITELY CATCH JOSS STONE!

ya didn't think i'd go to her show and NOT snap a hundred pictures did ya?

well you're sorta right cause i only got a few.

since i was car less at the moment i had my sis drop me off and of course she took her sweet time so i was too late to make it anywhere near the front!

luckily, there were steps so i was at the very top with a good view. that and i was more about watching the show vs capturing it all on my phone.
