ooof.
i really, really liked this read.
liked it so much that its currently in my amazon basket waiting for me to complete the purchase of the physical book which says a lot cause i've never really thought about buying any of her other books.
finally. i think hands down this is my fave RS Grey book ever! i finally found the one (of hers).
i have never worked in a construction site and she really didn't do anything wrong trying to get the job but parts of this were a bit unbelievable...especially the sleeping arrangements.
i feel like in the real world that would NEVER fly. HR would be up someones ass SO HARD!
but still.
i really liked this read.
and if i'm being honest, i think it has to do with the fact that i was dying from being on my period and dealing with going through a break up and so just all the fighting and the final reconciliation between Taylor and Ethan when they both finally get over their shit and decide to do this shit was just the best!
oof, they fight. but once they decide they are going to do this, it was the best.
and i think i love this even more because i love how much Ethan cares for Taylor even if he wants to get payback. its not who he is so it's all the more *swoon* ahhh!!!
he's just angry, i get it. but gah! he loves her.

(but also, did Taylor ever get back her $800!!!???)
anyway, it was a good read.
so good that i read 48% of it the first time i picked it up (i went to be at 230 am) and finished it right away as soon as i got home from work.
i couldn't get through this one fast enough and im already hoping to do a re-read soon.
ahhh! i loved this one.
(but please note that i can definitely see where some things were questionable. its just that finally that didnt bug me for once. the freaking love took over and it was good enough that everything else fell to the side!)
Taylor lives in a trailer home with her mom and sister.
her mom finally left her deadbeat boyfriend and is going to school and her sister McKenzie is doing amazing in school but has been running hospital bills due to her health (thankfully it was just asthma).
the car is the shop, the bills are past due and work isn't getting better.
she's at the bar waiting for her ride being bummed out about her current life situation when she notices Ethan and the rest of the guys there.
he goes up to the bar to get drinks when she orders one to show him that shes not there for shits and giggles.
he adds her drink to his tab.
the gang leaves, he stays behind, they meet up in the bathroom to hook up.
she touches his butt as they're fooling around and notices she can pull out his wallet.
she tries, gets it, tells him that she'll meet him up at his room, he agrees and leaves.
she pukes.
she notices he has $800 in his pockets.
in the end she cant go through with it.
she leaves the wallet with the bartender and leaves with her ride.
Ethan realizes what happened, goes back to the bar and gets his wallet but of course, the money is gone.
he is livid.
fast forward (not really but next scene)
Jeremy shows up to her place and lets her know that there is a new construction thingamajig going on and they are hiring a shit load of people.
he comes up with the idea that she should dress up as a dude and go.
they go and apply and she gets hired RIGHT ON THE SPOT.
(Ethan saw her applying which is why he made sure that she was hired)
the downside?
because its an hour and a half away, they'd need to stay out there during the week and only come home on the weekends.
all the guys have their bunks in each building and they are assigned.
Taylor gets a cabin with one other roommate.
whom she doesn't meet until later.
long story short, she ends up working for Ethan as his assistant because she has no experience working in construction.
on her first paycheck, he deducts the $800 she "stole" from him. she goes home with a $40 check and a broken heart (not because of him but because of the money.)
he keeps being bitter with her, time goes on.
this one weekend roles around to go home and she's waiting for Jeremy. he finally comes around and he's been crying.
turns out that his girlfriend, Khloe, is pregnant. and she has decided that they need to move to another part in Texas to have help with the baby.
.......and because of that Jeremy has to quit.
AND BECAUSE OF THAT, there is no way for Taylor to get back to the site.
so she has to stay.
(i should also note that her cabin is basically in a forest. FUCK THAT)
and this goes on for 3 weeks i think? eventually Ethan finds out and "forbids" her but she still stays.
memorial day weekend roles around and Ethan's sister (Isla i think is her name) insists on going to the site with friends so they can have a camp out.
Taylor cant go home obvs, so she's screwed.
but his sister is super sweet so she invites her.
all in all, prior to memorial day weekend, Taylor told Ethan that she was tired of the fighting and she wanted to be friends but he's still being a dick so he says no.
so memorial weekend comes around and Isla invited Tanner, some dude who is deeply in love with her but she has made him wait FOR 2 YEARS! and he comes up with the idea that she help him make Isla jealous.
it works.
not only that, it also worked for Ethan.
he goes up to her and he tells her i forgot what but basically stating that he wants to be with her or some shit like that and so yea.
nighttime comes, she can't go to sleep so she goes to the lake and he happens to be there. he tells her he's been waiting for her.
they finally hook up.
back to work.
she wants to keep it secret but there is a change and people have noticed it.
after going back and forth (and because one of Ethan's colleagues basically called her a whore), she decides they should go public with it.
she then decides to go back to school.
the prologue takes place 6 years later and she is graduating from college.
they have a baby and another on the way.
they work together and still have all the passion from Day 1.
and of course there is A LOT i left out but gah! i loved this one! <3
