MY THOUGHTS
This was my first book by CL. Since I have nothing to compare it to, I absolutely loved it.

Super cheesy.

Of course, YOU KNOW what's going to happen but it has these other things that happen in between and I think those things happening helped solidify my liking of this book.
It could've been easy to just have them fall in love and then have everyone be happily ever after.
But I like what they did with the story instead.

To be honest, I only bought the book because once it started coming around on ig, I fell in love with the cover. It was also a bonus that the synopsis was also good. So I was just praying that I would like it because I didn't want to lose money on a book I didn't like. I was worried because a lot of other bloggers ended up not being too crazy about it (but they've for the most part been long time readers so they know what to expect.).

I always think that much good luck for one person can be a bad thing. Eventually, its bound to run out or whatever....and what a day for it to happen! Imagine on your wedding night?
Of course there's more to that because well, I don't wanna spoil it here but....what a douche right?
Although, if I'm being 100% honest, i was sorta super glad that that happened to Ami.
It was sorta time for Olive to shine.
....even if it was at the cost of her sister.
(I'm sounding really evil here. Yikes!)

Reading about Olive & Ethan's relationship development was SUPER cheesy. They go from hating each other to falling in love.
And its cheesy in the best way possible.
It had me grinning from ear to ear and laughing out loud a lot.
I'm so happy everything happened the way it did for them to end up together.
I loved that they were just the same as they were opposites and that they knew when to be grown ups about their relationship when it needed it and that Olive, even after a her string of bad luck, was smart and strong enough to stand up for herself and her truth no matter the cost.

I'm happy it all worked out in the end.

I did want to know what ended up happening to their parents in the end.
...and also, that scene at the restaurant at the very end....kinda far fetched ESPECIALLY seeing as how the whole family is super tight knit buuuuuuuut its whatevers. I'm just going to assume that it happened while she was caught up in well, her situation.

It ended up being good enough for me.

They have another book coming out in October and I like that cover too so who knows, I might pre-order that one too.

Overall, it made me giddy to read this. It didn't leave anything open ended for me and I really did like the way the issues were introduced and resolved.
This was a super fun read for me.

Spoilers after the jump!
thanks for reading!
SPOILERS
Ami has amazingly good luck and has managed to sponsor the entire wedding.
They win a seafood buffet that the entire party eats except Ethan & Olive.
Olive because shes allergic and Ethan because he simply just doesn't do buffets.

When Olive is doing her speech and keeps being interrupted by her family, Dane (Ami's husband) haunches over Ami and pukes all over her dress.
It can't be because he was drinking earlier before the ceremony because then a bridesmaids 7 year old gets it too.
Turns out they had hella food poisoning (and the caterer is in the clear because it's just something that seafood can have and no matter how long or hot they cooked it, nothing can stop it).

Of course Ami also won the honeymoon but seeing as how they cant leave the bathroom at all, Ami BEGS Olive to take it.
Of course, Ethan has to go too.
The rules are very strict.
They don't care that they're doubled over dying in pain. They HAVE to go.
Ami & Olive are twins and Ami only gave the grooms last name.
Since Ethan & Dane are brothers there's no issue there.

So....they make it to the island and of course they hate each other so they keep out of their way.
Olive goes to get a body massage and on the way out she sits by a sofa and is basically falling asleep when who walks by?
Her new Boss!!!!!!
He's there on his 30th anniversary and of course the masseuse comes out and tells her that she forgot her wedding ring in the room.
Either she lies to the masseuse and gets charged for the free room or she agrees and let's her boss think shes married.
...now they're stuck having dinner with her boss and his wife pretending to be newlyweds.

Dinner happens, they fall in love with Ethan, they go back to the room.
On their way back to the room, they run into Ethan's ex. (And to make this short, he proposed to her, she said no, and now shes engaged to a low budget Darryl Dixon.)

Before the trip, Ethan & Dane would go on all sorts of trips on important dates between Ami & Dane. Anniversaries, BIRTHDAYS, you name it. Dane always said it was Ethan's doing.
On this trip Olive learns that it was actually ALL of Danes doing.
She also learns that Dane was still seeing another girl on the side while he was serious with Ami.
Olive swears up and down that Ami thought they were serious from Day 1 and Ethan insists that she doesn't know what was going on between them.

Anyway, the trip goes along well and then one day they take a drive all over Hawaii they stop to get Ethan Mai Tais and he ends up getting druuuunk AF.
He finally makes a move on Olive. Hes always liked her but they learn on the trip that Dane was keeping them apart since Day 1. (He kept feeding Ethan all this bullshit that she was basically bad luck, bad mood, crazy)

The trip continues, it's time to go home, and finally its olives turn to go to her brand new, desperately needed job.

She goes and when she's with HR, her boss (well, basically the hella head hancho) Mr. Hamilton walks in and outs her to the HR stating that he ran into her in Hawaii with her husband on their honeymoon.
To which HR says "oh good! I thought I had heard something about a sick relative. (They offered her the position when she was at the airport on her way to Hawaii. Maui actually, to be exact.)
She decides then to be honest about the whole not being married thing.
she goes on about her day only to end up in his office where he fires her for having lied. Well, mostly for having kept up the lie at dinner.

she gets fired, she meets up with Ethan at a bar, Dane shows up, Ethan goes to the bathroom, Dane straight up hits on her, she tells Ethan, he doesn't believe her and to make this short, he ends up....breaking up with her.

Shit's hit the fan.

She decides to tell Ami and when she does, of course it blows up in her face. Ami talks mad shit to her. They don't talk for 2 weeks and finally Ami texts her and tells her shes found names.
Blah, blah, blah.....
She invites Olive over, they eat, watch a movie, Dane shows up, 2 minutes later the doorbell rings.

Ami texted all the home girls to come over. 1 by 1 they show up so its safe to say its hella over.

Since losing her job, Olive's been waitressing at her cousins restaurant.
At this point she's moved out of her apt and moved in with Ami. She's taking time to discover herself.
Ethan has been trying to win her back so he "grand gestures" her at work and they end up getting back together.
(This is all happening while they sat her old boss Hamilton in her station. Looool. They seat them somewhere else because his wife knew that Olive wasn't comfortable serving them and Olive overhears the wife saying something about how they have yet to fill her position and that he basically fucked up for firing her.  at this point I think it's been months that she's been gone.)

And das it.

The epilogue is from Ethans POW 2 years later.
They are on their way back to Maui but this time with Ami & Lucas, Ethan's coworker. They have been dating for about a year or almost a year.
And to make this short, Ethan ends up proposing to Olive on the beach. Well, she kills it so she ends up proposing to him and then he gets down on his knee.
....and she got a job with an organization.

As always, I left a lot out!
